1. Climate & Water Resilience

We research and respond to climate adaptation needs, drainage pressure, flood risk, and water safety, building resilient urban and rural systems that hold up under Uganda's changing climate. This work anchors the Kampala Smart Flood Resilient System and our water-safety research.

2. Air, Waste & Sustainable Cooling

From air-quality and noise research to plastic-pollution reduction and sustainable cooling, we tackle the everyday pollution and waste pressures that affect community health, including training and stakeholder engagement supporting ozone-layer protection.

3. Smart, Green & Compliant Cities

We support urban environmental planning, green infrastructure, and environmental impact assessment, helping cities grow in ways that stay accountable to environmental standards.

4. Community Engagement & Environmental Education

Outreach, training, and school and youth programmes connect communities directly to environmental decisions that affect them, turning field research into public understanding and action.

5. Natural Resources & Agroforestry

Climate-smart agriculture, agroforestry, soil health, and sustainable land management sit at the heart of our rural programming, most visibly in Agroforestry for Prosperity.
