Kampala Smart Flood Resilient System
The Challenge
Urban flooding without warning
Kampala faces recurring urban flooding, drainage pressure, and a lack of real-time information to warn residents and guide response before floodwaters rise.
The System
An integrated response
The Kampala Smart Flood Resilient System (KSFRS) is an integrated urban flood-risk monitoring, response, drainage, waste-control, and stormwater-reuse concept, currently under development. It combines:
- Rainfall intelligence and water-level monitoring
- Public alerts
- Drainage and pumping controls
- Stormwater conveyance
- Treatment and potential reuse
Get Involved
We’re seeking technical partners, government collaboration, and funding to pilot KSFRS in priority flood-risk areas.
