These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website www.gheriug.org (the “Site”), operated by Green Horizons Environmental Research Initiatives Uganda Limited (“GHERI-UG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using this Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who We Are
GHERI-UG is a company limited by guarantee registered in Uganda under the Companies Act No. 1 of 2012, registered address P.O. Box 210297, Kampala, Uganda.
2. Use of This Site
You agree to use this Site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the Site by, anyone else. You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or its systems
- Use the Site to transmit harmful code, spam, or unlawful content
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when submitting a form or donation
- Scrape, copy, or republish substantial parts of the Site for commercial purposes without permission (see Section 5)
3. Accuracy of Information
We take care to keep the content on this Site accurate and current, including descriptions of our programmes, partnerships, and institutional landscape. Some content, such as our flagship programmes, is presented at various stages of development and may be described as a concept, pilot, or work in progress rather than a completed or fully funded initiative. Institutions named as part of our sector “Ecosystem & Landscape” are presented for context, based on their public mandates, and are not necessarily formal partners of GHERI-UG unless stated otherwise.
We do not guarantee that all content is complete, error-free, or up to date at all times, and we reserve the right to correct or update it without notice.
4. Donations
If you make a donation through this Site:
- Donations are processed by a third-party payment provider; by donating, you also agree to that provider’s applicable terms
- Donations are non-refundable, except where required by law or in cases of a clear processing error (for example a duplicate charge)
- We will use your donation to further GHERI-UG’s mission and programmes, in line with our governance and financial accountability framework
- We will issue an acknowledgement of your donation to the contact details you provide
To report a payment error or request assistance, contact us using the details in Section 8.
5. Intellectual Property
The content on this Site, including text, reports, data, photographs, graphics, and the GHERI-UG name and logo, is owned by or licensed to GHERI-UG and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws, unless otherwise stated.
You may view, download, and share content from this Site for personal, educational, or research purposes, provided you do not alter it and you credit GHERI-UG as the source. You may not use our content for commercial purposes, or in a way that suggests our endorsement of a product, service, or position, without our prior written permission.
6. Third-Party Links
This Site may link to third-party websites (for example government agencies, partner organisations, or payment processors) for your convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those external sites. Visiting a linked site is at your own discretion and risk.
7. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
This Site and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GHERI-UG is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Site, reliance on its content, or inability to access it, whether direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the laws of Uganda.
